yip i feel i lose enough fish right at the side that i can keep 1 fish every comp. Man when that thing pulled the 14ft rod flat i knew it was a bus. I still said the morning, one takes a chance fishing the small hooks with a big stump, but then you miss all the just size ones.

But i'm definately taking wikus' advice about the small "skepnet". You learn something new everytime, sometimes at quite a price tho...
that right so you learn i have already brought one a nice samml one will go were ever i go .:fishn:fishn:fishn:fishn:fishn

Okay, help me out here.

If I use a small hoek to catch stump and it swallows it completely, what happens then? Do you cut the line and just release it?

Does that count as a safe release? Personally I think it defeats the point of "safely" releasing a fish.

That's why I was using 1/0 or 2/0 hooks over the weekend, and that's why I missed so many pulls!

i started out fishing with a no.1 hook but later changed to a 2/0 hook as the bigger stumps were biting. i generallyh fish with a no.1 hook at the baan, but that is because i fish with my rod in hand and feel the bite and strike. that way i always hook the fish in its mouth, i rarely gut hook a fish cos i dont give it chance to swallow the bait. but if the bigger fish is on the bite chances are that they gonna fcuk up the smaller hooks..

Yip the bigger fish and the smaller hooks. DISASTAAAA...

Sy pens het by sy bek uitgehang.
