Garmin 4'' and Lowrance 5'' so R550 more for 1'' difference in screen size - must be a bargain ???

Also thought the Lowrance is a better deal, also better sonar I have heard..

Hey Bingo

I went to guys in Paarden Island Road with the price from Killers Deals. They matched it on the Elite 5 for me. So if you keen, PM me and I will give you their details. Not sure if they will be able to give you the same deal, sometimes they get better prices from suppliers, but they are super nice and will give ou great advice. Also their price on the Charts were VERY good. I have both the Garmin and Lowrance on my boat, Lowrance all the way for me!

Go look at the stats for the 2 units:-

4" compared to 5"
800nits screen grightness compared to 1000nits
240 x 320 pixels compared to 480 x 480

No comparison as far as I'm concerned.  Elite5 takes it every time, unless you planning a trip to the Islands (Mauritius, Madagascar, Reunion etc.) then the BlueVision maps with a big 14" screen will be awesome.

Popped in at Manex to have a look at the Lowrance Elite 5, very nice looking unit... But Price R7900 without charts. Seaport Supply just up the road from them, popped in their and left with a Garmin 421s ( Was on special ) and Namibia to Knysna g2 Vision charts for just under 8k - very friendly service and not shy on helping and giving advice.::S

Owned a Garmin 298 Combo unit and was very happy with it. I need nothing more for the type of fishing I do... 

Seaport Supply for me.

i support seaport supplies too,i always deal with deon gives me great service and a nice discount.
