Huey - I sh!t you Not - I am getting that now with my saltist 50 , and If Reefman can hit it on the 30- you should be able to as well . Only thing is that it will require a lot more casting experience ( definitely -being smaller )to do it than with say, a torium , saltist , or grandwave , sl50 . Got it ?

I am Not a believer ofDeeper means bigger fish .
I am after the distance , ESPECIALLY with the 30- as you only use a 4 oz , or 5 oz grapnel , say - then you need the damn thing to be sitting on THAT side of the heavy breaker "white water wash" mark - or you'll be washed side-ways ashore , like what happens to me .
And strangely enough - I Did catch the only fish on sunday because I was casting further , or over the others .
People Bandy 100m about like it's nothing . Im no expert , have a big passion for fishing , being an ex P.E boytjie ( yip - amsterdamhoek se mannetjie ) but reefman will tell you - 100m Is by no means sommer something that just happens .
As you see what I am learning here - fishing is a little more science than I ever imagined , with regards to tackle etc . Very interesting stuff - but once you've got it waxed , Like I have the 50 - you'll have the slightly less experienced fishermen asking you to cast for them , every time .
OR_ you'll find them walking deeper , and deeper into the water , to get their sinker closer to yours !!!! I always laugh when the okes do that !! Hey- we all started off somewhere , even reefman .Ne?
Hey Reef- SHOT for the Photo's - MUCH appreciatte it . I wondered what those darn things were - what you suggest- red , black , or both ?
And oi - HOw do they WORK ?????????????? Does this now put the Spool off balance-make it spool up slower - What ?

I am relatively new to the sport as well.. Seen some guys wading in to cast,only to a whole lot of salt water in the wader.lol. I have was advised to take out Centrifugal brakes. I dont really get overwinds, even in the dark but want to know from members if they had had any experience with the loomis rod. Thus far my biggest fish has been 10kg apart from seaweed which was heavier! I must say I have used other reels and prefer the SL30.

Gentleman . All of you can take a Bow. Holy Crap. REEFMAN - you're a bloody frikkin GENIUS . It's 1.30 saturday morning. Just got back from feeding. I am so tired now of smiling my teeth are gettin Cold. Holy cRAP, this thing can Cast! Loomis Rod is a pleasure to behold. I Finally Cracked it man- my mission i Mean, Not the Rod. To get some distance with the 30. TO SAY i'm blown away by heeding some of the advice given is a mild under statement. The line above at 60 bucks for 600m is an absolute Bargain . 0.4 mm . Check. Medium tip. Check. Brake blocks. Check. 5 oz sinker . Check. 130m. - CHECK ! And this after i was cautious to mate it to my new Rod! The damn Loomis Casts from another Planet. I HAD ONE close call, but as for the rest- 4 hours of casting FULL TILT, AND i didn't Lose a Single Sinker. And i'm just warming up. . . . Tonight i sleep a peaceful and content Man. What a Difference . Compared to tuesday- boys- unbelievable. You can't say it's the same reel. And the harder you push it the harder it Screams! Walt skrops weedeater fluke reefman,you may all take a moerova bow! Now- Walt- i Got something for you. We thought louren's nest couldn't be topped. Check out the image i Post when i Can find the pic on my phone. Words Pale in comparison ! Shit i nearly fell off the rocks taking this Picture!!! Thank you to all of you.
