Hi
We catch them through all the summer months , best in the evenings and late afternoons. Normally after a strong se and it has changed to nw for a few days. I fish for them in Simonstown , best is from a dingy near the bullnose or off the gun battery, i see people catching from the harbour but i imagine they work for the dockyard.i fish for them from a fishing ski and regularly catch up to 1kg somtimes more. The red tide at the moment has messed things up a bit. You fish with two jigs a lead jig at the end of the line and a floating jig attached to a trace one foot above it, let it down normally 1 fathom from the bottom and they grab on. When the shoal comes around you may catch 5 or more in quick succesion and then you wait for the next shoal. other spots are kalk bay harbour wall but it gets a bit crowded.Good fun on a bass stick .
good luck
