Just a quick question, what brand reel does your club captain use?  I was on the beach on Saturday at Mnandi where the Two oceans guys cleaned up on the bronzies ... where were u?

80% van Robbie se katrolle is Shimano’s. Hy het wel n Saltiga wat hom al baie probleme veroorsaak het. Spoel wat al gepop het en ook die raam wat gekraak het.

Definitely… only use Daiwa’s when fishing from  a boat…. Not made for surf fishing in South Africa!!!

Mike, I want to try Blue Horizon bay here in PE this weekend. Some lovely Bronzies and Raggies have been coming out over the last week or so.

I generally only fish for edibles but looking at the pics you guys have been posting has tempted me to give the non-eds a bash.

Just hope you aren't right about my Saltist!!!! LOL

Besides selling my Daiwa and buying a Shimano, Are there any pearls of wisdom you can impart to a novice non-ed angler like myself??? Trace - bait - hooks ?????

One tip....... besides the "do not wipe your @ss with a broken beer bottle" tip ...... LOL

Especially when using Daiwa do NOT try put too much pressure on the fish, your drag will fail you and your spool will probably pop....... so take it eaaaaaaaaaaaaaasy  :spite  :spite  :spite
