Hi guys, I'm thinking of going to Vidal at the end of January into beginning of Feb. What are the 5 bed log cabins like, I've read some disturbing reports on line. Are there any better than others? Will my wild card be accepted at Vidal for entrance?

I am almost sure your card will be accepted at the gate and in the actual camp. I prefer the cash system because anything can go wrong in the Bush. I have only camped there or made use of the normal cabins. Re Price diff. ?......... so many cheaper places in st Lucia.

Make sure you are well stocked in Vidal. There is a shop in camp, very basic supplies.

nothing wrong with the log cabins, just make sure no windows or doors are left open, only problem Cape Vidal has is the monkeys.

The log cabins are very rustic, they started renovating them last year so its still a work in progress but for the money I do not see any problem with them at all

Oops.... didn't read correctly. Wild cards are very useful. Yip log cabins are coool. I just prefer the better value for money option.

Make sure you have good fresh bait. A good cooler box. If you have chokka remove the skin after the first thaw. The chokka will stay whiter for longer. St Lucia is a little more than 30kms away. You must fish Mission Rocks.

U cant use your wild card to enter the reserve but a rhino card can be used. Stay away from the fishermans cabin - its a dump - taps and shower leaks - whole cabin had a very damp smell. More wildlife inside the cabin than outside - cockroaches plenty, as well as sticky frogs, bats and rats inside the cabin. Cabin is very basic and when we stayed there the freezer was useless and the fridge barely worked.
