* Yesterday, a bulk carrier - the 'Doce River' - nearly ran aground at Sunset Beach but managed to regain power. At one point she was approx half a mile off of the beach.
 
*This morning, with conditions at sea still severe, two groundings occurred along the South African coast. A barge has run aground off Jacobsbaai near Saldanha Bay and a cargo barge carrying miscellaneous equipment has run aground on Knysna West Head.

Dolpin, will be taking pics of the barge at Jacobsbaai today as soon as I get them I will post them here...she say's as you drive into Jacobsbaai it looks like a block of flats sticking out,then you see it closer and see it is a barge...

Wonder if the Salvage Operators will get her off? As long as she doesn't get holed and create another environmental mess!!!!!

Awesome photos. I will take a drive and have a look at whats left of the barge here in Knysna. If Neptune is angry he spits out huge metal thingies like pips. Hopefully there would not be any environmental damage.
