Hi DB, welcome back. I hope you were out fishing and not working?

You dont offend me, and I dont disagree with you. I however dont think that you are going to find hooks with an offset "eye", especially the heavier 2-4 oz jigheads, that will allow you to tie on, on top of the jighead, ie keeping the c-of-g lower to ensure a better lifelike swim action.

Perhaps something and an opportunity for an enterprising guy to look into. But then, if it works, will be a couple of months and his prices will also be the same.

I also think the price of jigheads in general are rediculous.  I have tons of old dive weights that I can use to make such jigheads if only I can find suitable hooks with such an offset eye.

The Tritons that I bought did have the 'offset eye' very similar to couta-coppies 4oz.    and work very well.

Hi ignobilis

Tackle Centre is owned by a friend of mine, they don't have the arrow head, nor do Kings or Basil Manning. I'll have a sniff around some of the other shops on the week end. I always try and get the ones with the Owner hooks on...sharp as anything and quite strong as well.

Shot for the advice.

Hey guys. If you want Tackle Center to stock those Owner Arrows of Custom Baits then you must just give them a shout. I'm sure they will be happy to order it for you guys in Durban area. The owner of Custom Baits is going early next week to that area and said he will drop some off if they order.

Just saw at a tackle store in Pretoria that I USED to support Nitro 3oz jigheads, 2 per pack for the never to be repeated special price of R100-00

I am now more determined than ever to make my own!

Still got a problem in Pretoria? Try Bouwer Broers. They have an small but comprehensive selection.  I got Berkley/Owner Nitros 5-packs today for R63, still pricy by principle but a helluvalot better than 95/2
