balito area in december

Gonna be around balito during new years...taking a fly rod and my surf rod.Anyone keen on joining me? Or if you know alot about the area can you please help me out?

Really hoping my name can change after this trip.

Hi, I had to laugh at myself -all the time I thought you were boasting about a 4 kilo fish! Then I looked closely...fly fishing in the sea is a mission epecially in the wind. If you have not done much try the lagoons or Umhloti -Granny's pool from the rocks near the mouth to the sea or for shad around Umlhanga light house -but try get rock boots -basically cut down wellies to the ankles with holes in the sides - to enable you to stand on the rocks and get some grip as you are normally fishing in the surf with waves breaking around you-perched on a rock with mussels etc.

Ballito is a great place to flyfish try the bay next to the main tidelpool in ballito

you get a lot of 3spot popano a great start.Chaka's rock to the right again in the bay

blacktail ,carenteen/ Shefield beach endless places a bit windy must fish early

morning.The bolders at night u get blue shad about 10oclock at night using a sea

rod. Also grannys pool great place for octerpuss put a arm out for rock samon.
