Hey all

I was hoping that you would be able to help me out with a little more information regarding Baja on bronkhorstpruit dam. we normally go to the nature reserve side but have decided we would like to try somewhere new over easter weekend.

I was hoping to find out if anybody has informations on what facilities are available?

what are the ablution facilities like as we will have a few of the woman with us?

what are the camping stands like and are they close to the water?

Is there any curfew regarding noise levels?

I have heard they have a small cafe do they sell ice and firewood or would we have to go in to town?

and last but definately not least is the grass as bad as the government side and what is the fishing like at the moment?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Great fishing to all

Fishing Palace,

The facilities are basic, two ablution blocks with warm water. There are not new but clean and in a working condition.

Some of the stands are on the water but you need a loooooooong lead (70m). Most are level covered with grass. There are a play area for the kids, but not much else.

We never experienced a problem with noise... Yet.

The cafe have the basics in stock. Over a normal weekend far less than over a long weekend. No need to go into town.

As to fishing and the grass problem... The last time I was there, during November 2010, the fishing was okay, but you had to wade in some distance to net the catch because of the grass.

Hope it helped

Hey Guys

Thanks so much for your info..

Louis do you know if the ablutions are kept clean over busy times. the biggest issue we face is finding a place with toilets and a place to shower for the ladies. as long as it is clean they really dont mind.

the other issue we face is with such a big group we tend to be a bit loud. is there anywhere else you could suggest as an alternative??

i have been searching the web for over a week and have managed to find some really nice resorts but they unfortunately do not have angling facilities.

i have also noticed that when it comes to finding a really nice resort that u can take the family and kids for a few days we really do not have much. Can it really be that hard to maintain some decent ablution facilities and maybe a swimming pool for the kids. just a personal thing but i feel that that if somebody could upgrade there property to have these basic facilities they would be fully booked all the time

Unfortunately i would have to first get a bigger vehical.

if we could only get another resort like the old jim fouche we would have a brilliant fishing destination whereby friends and family would be able to join us on long weekends
