we use these types of lifejackets working offshore, the problem is that quite a few of the makes are not SAMSA approved, so they may not legally be used as a life preserver. We also regulary inflate them by accident whe the pull chord hooks against things...

Hi,

We are going to send the jacket to the NRCS to get it passed under the new SANS regulations! Due to the price we might look at importing more it will retail at about R900, but wanted to find out the how much of a market there is?

Hi to the best of my knowledge SAMSA and SADSA have recently ruled that as long as a Lifepreserver has a SABS, united states coast gaurd or CE stamp it is valid in local waters

This is correct! but from march 2010 all jackets being imported and being manufactured in SA have to have the NRCS approval! this will be a ZA number on the jackets!!This is over and above the approval like uscg and ce!

They can be inflated manualy and deflated, if it goes off automatically you have to replace the co2 cylinder only, they are hydrostatic so only go off under pressure! so they can be rinsed!! Dam good idea and very comfy!
