Hi there,i am new to the site, been checking it out on regular basis, and decided to join,we do go out to arniston often,at least once a month, must say that catches and spearing wasnt good during the winter, hopefully things will change with spring approaching,i am allso booked for the long weekend and hopefully some southeaster can changes things.
Some news from Arniston...my bro and Cuz went out on our 2 man kaya, rather deasp and got circled by a 4m white! the fishing was terrible and so was the vis... did a dive on sunday but we where a bit nervous after saturdays "fun and games"... didn't see anything worth shooting and i looked in alot of caves!! anybody have some luck?
on saturday it was ok but it was definately colder yesterday.... but you can normally find something in the caves... even had my torch... saw a yellow belly but it was too small... a few zebra's and some blacktail but nothing worth taking home...
looked liek today was going to be great... swell had dropped and the water was definately clearing!
Where did you see the white? Arniston is notorious for them, I know a guy who had a very aggro smala one (3m) giv ehim a rev right against Porter rock.
Eish, dont like this kinda news ,especially from arniston,we heading up their thursday, but weather report doesnt look good for fishing, southweasther is picking up again later on the weekend, might be good for some spearing on saturday.
oh you better believe it... although we only have one between the two of us so we dive rather close to each other... good luck and let us know how it goes!
Where is Otter Bay in relation to the Arniston slipway ? Were they on a specific reef area or just randomly paddling around.Time those new seal pups started getting into the water so the sharks can bugger off to the islands to find their food elsewhere :ssswim:
past Roman beach there is a long stretch of beach before you get to the cross/point... about 1,5km out to sea, they where trying some deaper water for cob, just letting the wind drift them out...
