Ahoj, Dear Sealiners,

the year nears it's end and may be we should let you in on the "Malta da Kianda" upgrade "Mahinda".

Cdre Francisco is the proud new owner of an 11 years old American Lady: new name "MAHINDA" a 1999 Albemarle 28 express with fold down tower on a tripple axle trailer.

Her first life she spent in Florida clocking 950 hrs on her twin 200 hp volvo tamd41's. Three years out of the water she urgently needed a new "mate" and so Xico and Sacha could'nt refuse, after Sacha had dugg her up in the internet.

She's undergoing engine overhaul and electrics upgrade before being shipped mid-January destined for Angola. The "Malta da Kianda" is hopeful to use her before the close of this billfish season in May 2011.

8,5m by 2,9m;  2 x 200 Volvo diesels; 4,5 mtons dry displacement; 960 ltrs diesel tanks; fold-down marlin tower and upper controls

Have a look! My first glace :merm

I looooove that girl!

Hi Pargoman

That is a mean fishing machine. You guys are clever bringing in the Yankee boats as there quality of built is normally excellent. Congrats for your mate she is lovely.  What price did she go and cost to import? If it is confidential just ignore please.

Enjoy

Ahoi and a very merry Christmas to you and your Family BIIIIIG Van,

cannot say precosely what Commodore Xico invests till she is here. Must be about 40 to 45% of the same boat new exWorks in USA.

Transport and Importation should be a pain. The craft itself came in at about 25% of replacement value! Amazing deals these days in South US!

Consider she is 11 years old but was winterised three years ago and then stayed ashore till now, she will need only minor repairs and maintenance, all which should be competitively priced in the US. Engines had 960 at the time of hybernation. They'll get the 1,500 hrs full service nevertheless. All saltwater intakes will be opened and pumps and filters replaced where necessary. Wirings will be completely reviewed too. The upgrades, repairs and maintenance should set the new owner back about 6tsd USD...

But wadda pretty girl he will get out of it!! ahhhh, when Im big I want one like it!
