Afternoon,
Did a land based trip up passed Abu Dhabi to some flats we have been fishing a couple of times. Although summer is here and the temps are up around 40 degreeC the fish still seem to be around.
Armand Flies and myself drove up passed Abu Dhabi and spent the day chasing around after small Milkies and Grunter. I had a shocker of a day and had dropped about 8 milkies. Some of them were coming up to the Milky Dream fly and taking them like a trout taking a dry fly, really awesome stuff, but I was hitting them to early to late etc. But finally on the pulling tide I was fishing a current pulling out of a cut on the flats with a few fish sitting in the current eating algae coming off the flats. i saw the fish come up and take the fly and the game was on!
The fish ran along the drop off and did a few awesome jumps and then turned and headed for deep water and then full speed back onto the flats, then back off etc. This carried on for a while and then I finally got the fish onto the flats and landed the fish on one of the sandbanks for a few pics and a release.
Armand managed to land three Milkies and a grunter. An awesome day out.
Cheers,
Nick
