Just to report back, had an great weekend in Stilbaai, best fish for me was a 94cm kobbie. Got a few smaller ones as well as a few shad and smoothhounds.
Fished through the night on Friday and Saturday.
Great weekend weather wise for fishing the surf.
_seal1_..NICE..no pics of the kobbie???...

;)..When I got home yesterday arvie at 17h30...I noticed the west had tapped off....and the heavy east the day before MUST have dropped the temp a bit and now I check my baro and its on the rise and at 1018hpk...also I know its an outgoing and approx 3 hours to low....conditions are PERFECT for kobbie hunting!!!...

I grab my kit and down to my spot...when I get there its still a bit full and have a few throws off of a high tide spot...at around 18h20 I notice my two pinnacles showing and make the swim...as that sun just kisses the land in the west I get my first tap and oh but the lightest of taps...I skeem...water??..seaweed??...BUT we believe and have faith that is IS a kobbie...and strues njannies...three throws later KOB ON!!!

Landed 3 and dropped one all around the 65cm mark and safely released...a VERY good kobbie session for me indeed...

Awesome catch Kenty. I wonder if your techniques will work here in the Southern Cape.

;)_seal1_Thanks Houtarm...ja look that is something that is always intigued me..as your waters are generally a lot cooler...would be fun to work that one out over a period of time and see what the trend there would be,,,

Went for a late season shad session in the Overberg, was surprised by these nice kobbies on my 1st and 2nd casts of the day. On pike, because apparently there's a sardine shortage at the moment?? :?

Another great thread stopped also round about the time ....interesting ..

It was about 4 to five months later i noticed weird conditions , these conditions lasted for almost 4 years , in later 2024 i actually slowly started fishing again ans this year , about a month back , oddly enough , noticed that things are looking normal again...

I remember my dad telling me that in the 70s for about 4 years they also had an off period....
