not having a snelled skelm hoek has its pros and conns..
remember, its a "bonus' hook- i prefer being able to adjust the skelm hook up and down the line, an give it on turn around the shank just to keep it in place.
on my last mission, i snelled the skelm hook... and got really frustrated not being able to adjust the skelm hook higher up the line for tjokka baits, and lower down for smaller fish baits. what i have found, is that when the kob takes on the top hook--it slides down towards the main 7/0 hook.ending up with 2 hooks in its mouth. sometimes hooked outside the mouth.
saying that the trace wont work because the hook isnt fixed, is the same as saying the pulley rig or sliding a bait doesnt work, because theres no direct contact.
thats what i believe in any case.
