2hp Yamaha leaking petrol

Why when I tilt my outboard petrol runs out? I have to turn the motor around to stop it from leaking.

Agreed, difficult to assist, I can only think of the following:

1. Make sure all your hose clamps are holding properly

2. Some small outboards refering to my Parsun 3.6hp, has got an additional valve from tank to the carb, which I guess should be closed if not in use. Then again you are refering to a Yama, so again it's difficult to help you.

Could be the carb over flow, float level might need adjusting or is sticking a bit. Remove the cowling, tilt up and see if you can post a picture of where exactly the petrol leaks from.
