You have to be carefull when posting excactly where fish came out. I arrived at a spot yesterday and counted 21 rods in the water.in a area not more than. 40m... I had to pack up and leave as it was impossible to fish. I spoke to. A group of locals also just standing there, unable to get a line in the water.theyalso didn't know half the faces.Sealine Is fuLl of "roofkykers", people that doesn't post, but only log in to check what's happening.there's nothing wrong with showing and educating a friend, that's what were here for, but then you can handle the volume of anglers that is using that area.
So, if you want to keep enjoying Ur spot, don't post the exact location, you are not the only local who is fishing there.
Have a nice day.
Ps, this is mypoint of view, and I'm open for a debate.

Maybe then you need more than one fishing spot.:fbash. Just messing with you bud. Totally agree with you on that one. As soon as I post a pic of a fish (ie: cob) the spot is packed for days after and I can not fish there. Tickles my fancy.

Dankie mossel, dit is reg so.

BTW the shad is thick in the Southern Cape....hehe

That's what they told me, but a weekend of drifting whole sardine whilst spinning with spoons would suggest otherwise...

Shows you, you can take a donkey to the water... but luckily just reading/hearing about fishing doesn't mean you'll catch any... That's where skill and experience comes in!

(BTW, I don't fish near the city anymore, I get to worked up! I fished in the cold and rain this weekend just so I can have the water to myself and a few likeminded anglers... And were we rewarded!)

And then you get guys like me that actually enjoy fishing in a crowd, fighting for position and constantly thinking about how I can outwit the anglers around me to catch more and bigger fish first! It's what competitive fishing is all about to me.

Unfortunately, most guys are not like this and want to relax on the beach or on his favourite "klip" with few or none anglers in sight and catch a few size fish. With the South African population ever increasing and the sport of fishing growing and information becoming more and more available, the crowded fishing spot scenario is bound to happen more often and it goes hand in hand with "die vis loop!".

Ja stephan, ek verstaan, dis hoekom jy vir n club hengel. Ek was daar, en like dit nie. Eks getroud met 2 kinders, so visvang is meer as net n pissing contest tussen n klomp manne.

This might come as a shock to some on this forum......

Sealine is not the hear all , see all of angling in South Africa.

The bush Telegraph has been in use for many years & has always been

the most effective method of communication used by the locals in any place.

Gister is n sprekende voorbeeld.
