H - Darren built the rod up himself from a JM blank, so probably cost less than a standard JM set up.... but you get what you pay for, and nowhere is tackle more cutting edge than in deep jigging and popping.... insane drag pressures, ultra high torque reels, big fish, nasty structure.... Its amazing what these rods and reels can handle... the rods parabolic action takes so much pressure off the angler and transfers it to the fish....

Guys using this tackle are landing Tuna to 110 kilos in under 15 minutes.... No harnesses.... Insane!

Coming back to this thread... after seeing the pics Nepps put up of the 74kg weighed Dogtooth, methinks those okes on the Jeep show have been smoking some good stuff! No ways the fish was 200kg! Mayyyyyyyybe 100kg??!

Reefs - I think its the "Exaggerator Curse" we fishos are afflicted with.... and it seems the South Africans even more so...

Either which way, no doubt a blady nice fish, and a shame to lose it to the Men in Grey Suits..
