Caught my first Leervis and first fish on live mullet at Swartkops. Simply pushed a cable tie through the eyes and hooked the loop with a 6/0 circle hook. Releasing such a fine specimen is extremely rewarding.

I can have one made in PE to fit my Mercury 115HP for R200.00 which is for nothing . My concern is that stainless has no give so should you hit something you could loose your whole skeg which creates an even bigger problem. Also I dont like the idea of drilling holes . Any advise?

At a local tackle store they are selling whole anchovies . I think Baitman is the supplier. I have never used them before . Where would you use them , what would you be targeting and how would you present it? Would it also work in estuaries.

I enjoy catching elf but unfortunately cannot always eat the fish on the same day as is commonly known elf is best eaten fresh on the day.
I am wanting to build a smoker which can hold at least four elf. Any ideas would be most welcome.
