We will be fishing in Port Aransas. Texas, from October 9th through 7th November for redfish. Would any members be in the area at this time. We could hookup, and maybe learn a few Texas fishing tricks together. Cheers from Pacific North West.

This is my method of making grapnell AKA Sputnik sinkers. I use a bottle sinker mould which we have had for 40 years and cast a bunch of 5 oz sinkers. After cooling, place in drill press vise and drill 2,  3mm holes using  press. Then punch 8-10 mm grooves with cold chisel from hole centres...

Looks like the no show sardine run may not bode well for the Cape summer season. Suspicion it may be temperature related.  December 2011 and at least January 2012, it was tough going at Struisbaai, Suiderstrand and Langebaan even the Strand was pretty slow.  Hope this does not repeat this...
