Zinkwzi - surf and beach fishing

Hi,

My family has been going to Zinkwzi, North Coast KwaZulu-Natal, for a good of years and in recent years has watched holiday catches dwindle to nothing (literally). So we must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions on the type of rigs, baits and locations? We're off there for 12-days from this weekend.

I am not sure how familiar you are with Zinkwazi, but here are some pointers:

1) Sandy Point - mainly for Stumpies, Kob and Shad. For Stumpies/Kob use 600mm  running trace line with 4 'O' hook. Baits, sealice, Chokka, Sards. if you walk to the right of Sandy point 1.5 km, you will find an excellent spot called Blue rocks.

2) To the left of First carpark (or whats left of it) - Mainly for Black tails, Rockcod, Kob and shad.  Fish with light sinker line due to snags from rocks. The bay in front of the mouth produces some nice Kob at night.

3) Plank stairs - Bronze Bream, Shad and Stumpies.
