Zambezi fish

I am one of the lucky guys who still manages to get back to Zim every year in Dec. i try my hardest to spend some time on the Zambezi. Dec 2010, like every other year, produced some nice fish! This is still my favourite place to fish.

Hey Zippy, thanks man. The tiger were caught just below where the Deka river meets the Zambezi. The bream and Vundu were caught in the Ruzi River, we took a houseboat from Binga.

Nice fish! what houseboat were you on ?? we left from binga on the OB Joyful late december too!, great fishing in the Ruzi with 2 tiger at 10 pounds , and 2 at 12 and good fish inbetween.  Plenty of good bream with also a 4 lb Nilotucus between the 4 guys fishing seriously.  Reluctantly we moved to the sengwe river where we Spent one morning session and landed over 29 tiger in one morning session on our 4 man tenderboat including a 14.3 lb tiger!! one of the guys caught a hook to the head and had to be rushed to binga cutting short our trip! seems binga is the way to go!!

hey chris, we were on the Catalina. an awesome houseboat, still one of my favourite holiday destinations. ya that area has alwyas had good fishing, i remember going as a small kid and catching loads of small tiger. Not the ideal place to get a hook stuck in your head, pretty far from anywhere!


Mozi, i was spinning with mepps spinners with a small slice of tiger belly fillet on the hook. i prefer spinning, the takes are just insane.
