Your fishing bucket list

I've never met an angler that doesn't dream about what that spot around the bend, or in the next town, next province or next country might deliver.

I know I spend a lot of time day dreaming about exotic fishing destinations when the bite is slow, so I'm wondering what are the spots on your bucket list and why? I like a bit of everything in fishing, so fresh, salt, lure, bait, fly, ed, in-ed, anything goes...

Here's some of my dream destinations:

Freshwater:

Congo river - Goliath Tigers
Kali river (India) - Golden Mahseer, Goonch
"La Zona" (Argentina) - Golden Dorado
Tennessee river - Alligator Gar
Amazon river - the list is endless
British Columbia - trout & salmon...

Saltwater:

Hallaniyat Islands - Giant GT's (scheduled for early 2015:woohoo)
Nova Scotia - Bluefin Tuna
3 Kings Islands - Giant Yellowtail
Guinea Bissau - Tarpon
Gabon - various
Angola - kob / garrick
Latham Island (Tanzania) - Dogtooth Tuna
Cairns (Aus) - Marlin
Seychelles - light tackle fun

I didn't add RSA coast line to my list, 'cos I've fished a lot of it, but I do agree, it makes a fine addition to any list.

I also have a list but one has always been on top.

Before I take the big sleep, I have to catch a TARPON.

To me this is the ultimate of ultimate's.

2016 is the year planned for this.

Nice one Kenty ;)

Simen, I am 100% with you there, after my 50kg GT (^^..) it's tarpon time! About 10 years ago I spent a season on a ship working around the Bahamas and Florida Keys, the pain of watching other anglers fight these beasts while I'm working can only be healed by getting one for myself.

Socotra should have been on my list as well... maybe it's the thought of pirates that helped me forget about it. Awesome place!

Ja boet. We all know they are there but look at what happened to that poor ou and his wife that were held hostage. Don't think the dude ever made it back from Yemen. Nick Bowels rates it very safe though . I don't know so much .

Pslatarix, good point about Ras Madrakah, definitely on my list. Socotra would be awesome, but I don't have the minerals for that...

I like this comment. I'm still in the phase where I fish hard so that when my son is old enough to do the same he can get some inspiration from looking at pics of his toppie in action!

Pslatarix, I sent you a PM.
