I must agree that that fish could not be 3.2kgs. The SA record stands at 2.9kg's. I caught a 34cm wildeperd on fly that weighed 3 pounds (see pic). Look at the size of a 3kg galjoen - close to 50 cm. Blacktail of 35cm are fairly common.

Couldn't help myself, here's my monster blacktail in Saldanah Harbour on my medium light dropshot setup. So old his spot had gone grey, lol. What a fight, getting him out of the mussel rafts

Guys I checked my scale and it is 100% to the gram. The problem however is the operator. He gets 0% for this attempt to weigh the fish.
He should learn not to be so hasty and go on a course to read the diffrence between KG and LBS-- And if that does not work maybe get himself a pair of specs.

Guys sorry its me that made a fool of myself for not checking. I re-weighed the fish and it now clocks in at a 3.04 lbs POUNDS, POUNDS you fool POUNDS. ( sorry talking to myself )

still a beatiful fish. My dad caught one of about a kilo on a flyrod with a tiny daiwa reel, a big swivel as sinker and a piece of limpet as bait....

Really good catch... Supatashi weight on that badboy u have there>>

Simen all that matters is we got to show some fish we enjoyed, I've never weighed a fish, but do measure to determine size, thanks for checking, tightlines

Hi Marthin! i never officially weighd it but estimated length is 40cm.. id say between 1.8-2.0kg's???... it almost lost its big spot on the tail and started going green-ish on top and also had scatterd mini-spots above the lateral line.... never saw this on any other das i've caught...

If that fish was 3kg's, that would have been the end of that challenge.

Instead, you can now go back and try again.
