I've had a rough Month . hectic  to say the Least .

With This conversation Hoisting Sunday firmly onto My radar , I casually Mentioned I'd Be taking the Kids for a Strol down to the block  Later that day after Kerk .

"No Problem"- she Replies" I'll Think about joining you then ... Julle Doen Mos in elk geval Boggerall . "        Oh honey , have I got a Surprise for 'Jew ....

Pm comes and Time is Marching . The Kids are Adamant They're going , but me being Me ,  I'm In No Mood to have a 2 year old Daughter Dangling from my arm and then have old Mother hubberd crutching along at 5mph Behind like a Pirate with a Wooden Leg .  :blah.

It was a Sweltering Afternoon . Simon And rob are already tanning at de spot  - commonly Known as The BLOCK . I'd always Mentioned to Robyosh That I'd Really Like to head down there sometime .

Not realising Today would be The Day .

Much to My surpise - Mom climbs into the bakkie , and away we go .

we Arrived at the spot , and i Noticed something was Different . The entrance looked different " , somehow .

Anyhoo , out we Jump , and off we go . I'm as baffled as anyone , what with the vrou Tagging along to a blind spot I'd Not fished or Walked before ........

hmm.

 

So you Think you Know what I'm doing , do you ? It was time for Mommy to understand exactly why us Men can NEver Get home "on time".

we got out and i Packed according to My usual Standard.

 

As heavy as possible . Nothing like Getting to a spot and the foosh are biting and you run out of bait .

So with my own portable shade towering above my kop , I told her" lets make this fair - you take 3 year-old Megan down - I'll carry everything else " ."fine by me . " ok ......

The walk was not so bad as it Meanders down through some trees .And then you get to a Really cool sign that sets the tone for the day .

Probably put up there for any Geriatrics thinking they're still "young and Able ".

I've Not spoken much to tuna about this spot , and In some ways I am Only too Glad that these spots are so remote . Keeps the Pesky bloody Slagters and Rif-raff away from Places as Magic as this One ......

Now , I Recall this Same Feeling of "wobbles-like-a-jelly", feeling , in my legs the last time i did kraanse with Hannes .

you start Getting half way down , and your legs Start shaking from the constant braking ..

 the spot itself is a Nature-lovers Dream . As you go down , the Stairs Seem to open up and Get deeper and Deeper .half of that Feeling s your Legs giving in .

To The Left Of The Block - a Very Nice Gully, that'd be a great place for junior to wet a line , if dad was prepared to walk all the way down those stairs so that junior could cast a line without dad going all the Way to the block ...

The spot is well Known By some for it's Magic lurkies coming out . I was hoping to hook into something nice again .

Though i can't go into details , lets Just say That things have really really not been coshure Around the house , nor at work , with it being so damn Busy , so a Nice foosh to loosen up the tension would've been just what the doctor Ordered .

I missed the first tug as rob broke news of his first enquiry .

 Thanks rob , that's all one Needs to get the pulse pumping and make you do Things like miss eyes on your Rod while tackling up , or putting your reel into the seat Facing the wrong way round . ..

This Lil bugger has an imagination that spans The Pacific , with as Much depth too.I don't Know where he Gets it from ...

and he's apparently a good story-teller as Well . Likes his lure fishing - i call it farting around on the beach with a Lure and No hook or bait . Crumbs , he's 6 for Pete's sake , but sometimes- i just wish he'd walk up to Me , grab My /8 and say" It's time for Me to show you how to cast , dad ...".

I take him down there and he Loves the spot . Dad's focussed on Planting the sinker Myle uit .

The water surges to your Left and smacks against the face of the outcrop around the corner with a Massive spray . The spot is magic . Magic i tell you .

The Water seems a little calm , but I Think if it comes close on 2.2-2.5 m swell , you'll be standing in front of the Lotto numbers . More than that and you'll be in for an @ss whipping from any surge . I don't plan on finding out just what that looks like . Yet .

No bites .

I'm beginning to become despondend . As usual , the hype surrounding the spot was by No means exaggerrated . i think we just hit it at the wrong time of day ( soon see what i mean by that ) , and this Obviously did not reflect Well wth Madam , who'd clambered down a-lah  havoc ( No shoes...) to find us Catching tans instead of tonnes . Demnit . Why didn't My Luck Just hold for 4 More hours or so Man .

Off to your right of the point round the 9 o clock Mark you'll find one or Two lil surprises waiting for you , but these are only relevant to you if you are one of those Readers who Actually catches something there . So this post Obviously is of no relevance to Us standing there on the Day . how bloody awful . i get given a single chance to prove to her That all this Sweat is actually worth it . Further In on your right there's a little bay that Lends itself for a Near-on Perfect spot for Landing one's Catch .

 Whoever designed This spot was Definitely a good fisherman in his previous Life .

If your catch decides to turn Tail and head back out round the point though- you're Pretty Much Stoofed , as there's no way you'll be able to run over them klippe Fast enough , to prevent possibly being cut off on the rocks ....

Water's Almost Crystal round here .

Admin I think we move this Report off to Fishing spots , or something . No drama in This one sadly , I'm Afraid ...

I Put out a Second rod , while My pal allan constructs a 400 pound trace with One of my eagle claws , in order for Me to slide out a Grunter head from the Trip to witsand , where i hooked a Nice 3.5 Kg job .

I forgot to actually tell everyone the Story behind this fish's fillets , as I Managed to consume too Much Brandy That Evening ,Had spent a god 2 hours Making perfect coals-

 and subsequently BURNT A HOLE THROUGH MY FRIGGIN DECK after I went inside and Failed to see the embers smouldering outside on the deck itself ......... Priceless , i tell you . Priceless . And no - I'm Not putting up the pic . Suffice to say i Kept the head for a special occasion , seeing as though the Rest of the fish had prven to be so wonderful to Me ........""

 

Anyhoo , The grunter head Went out and i was keeping my fingers Crossed .The sun in the Meantime had a field-day with the likes of robyosh , who by now had resorted to gooing into the bay , instead of My "out -to-sea" Tactic .

 i was Still Perplexed about the Tail coming back solid .

WIth Trophy's Last vist There this place absolutely rocked . I had hoped for something similar . Sadly , this was not to be .

Lindie decided She'd Seen enough , and Made the trip Back to solid Ground to begin strategizing the Walk Back to the Hilux . Eish ... It sure Looked Evil .

The stairs are pivotal to what MAKES the block , the BLOck .But if you Aren't used to em - like Me , you find yourself Panting and Wheezing all the Way down - all the Way up .

 Simon Was Packing up , and rob was in hot pursuit of homevill as Well .

 Lindie was already at the top , and upon arriving at the chair proceeded to call me from above .

I had never heard her so tired in quite a while ..... My daughter , all of 2 years old , managed by some Miracle to climb up every single step alone. 

I was fiddling with Jared's rod when the Stok went off with a tug .

Finally . Bleedin aunty , this place took it's sweet time to come onto the bite .Proof Then that we'd gotten there too early .

It wasNothing More than a smooth hound , which after much contemplation i released , deciding to Treat This species like Elf .If not for Toda -release . Kla.

At Least i'd broken the damn Mombakkie .

 

Those Stairs were beginning to look Not lekka .

The Sun Drew the Day to a close , and with No action whatsoever , We all Agreed That it was Neverhteless one of Those "spots the Needed to Be ticked off Our bucket List ", and i was Not sorry I'd Wet a Line there at all .

I'm Telling you - i Was Close to being a Dead Man walking -and i didn't even touch the lil girls like in the Movie of same Name ...... holy Heavens !! it was Murder with my Pack-mule Luggage doing Everything in it's power to make the force work against Me !!! Bloody HELL !!!!!!

I'd Only Just Managed to Catch up wth rob , who was Looking No better .Turns out simon and Mr Auer here had seemingly Managed to find themselves parking at the FIRST entrance to The path , instead of the Second one , so even After climbing up this Steep hill , te managed to add yet another 300 M to our walk up the gallows .

ARRRRRRGHHHH !!!!!!!!!     

 

 and The Fact that we'd basically Mombakkie'd at such a magic but cruelfully Painful spot SUCKKKED As Well !!!!

 

Both of us looked at Each other and agreed-

It was kinda funnny that we'd both ended up thinking the same Thing , as, to the uninitiated it's no walk in the park .
