Yellowfish ID

Hi :::S

Can anyone help me to ID this yellowfish? I caught it in the Buffalo River between Pomeroy and Tugela Ferry, KZN, close to where the Buffalo joins the Tugela River.

 I caught it on ultra light tackle (Shimano Carbomax rod, Shakespear Ultra Light 2500LX reel and 4lb line), great fun!!!!!! ::S::S::S. And it swam away heathy and strong.

Thanks in advance. ^^..^^..

I'm also wondering if its not a scaly...most largescale I have caught/seen don't have the formation that this one has just behind its mouth although I have seen many scalie's with this formation

it's a kwazulu-natal yellowfish... largescale yellows have around 8 or 9 scales between the head and dorsal (uppermost scales), whereas your fish has at least 12

Thanks Aqua for shedding some light on this "tricky" fish. Do you think the diffirence in the lips are due to diffirent feeding habits or is this a "defect"?
