Wow is all I can say at this point in time. Myself and BassmasterNONpro have been having quite a lot of fun in the past few days and weeks targeting the local Bass populations, both Large and Smallmouth with some good success. That changed slightly this morning! We got onto the water at 5:30am and within 10mins, BmNp landed his first fish, 5mins later and I too went into a good fish.

We then moved over to one of our favorite deep water points and all hell broke loose! On the first 3 casts we both got stuck into 3 fish each, yes, 3 double up's! Epic! We kept smashing fish for the next 20mins while two carp anglers were stuck on the bank "watching T.V." The tally at the end of the session was 10 fish for myself all between 1 and 1.8kg and BmNp ended with 6 fish in the same size. What a day! Here is some of the evidence...

Well done. If you are interested in the way the dam looks underneath, my uncle has a video of when they built the dam. Where it is very very deep etc. In another post i mention there is a bridge that is submerged in the dam. Right in line with the big tree on the western bank and the parking area on the eastern bank there used to run a road over the vlei that it once was. I think it would be ideal structure especially now in the heat of summer.

The carp anglers sometimes get stuck on that spot when casting from their favourite place. I don't know if they will bother you in a float tube but there is a otter family on the northern side of the small island. Between the bank and the northern tip of the small island is a submerged tree. Caught some nice bass from the side there. Also in the heat of summer there are sometimes MONSTER suspended bass hanging there in that little bay, but i could never get one to take my lure except once but i got to excited and striked to soon. You guys might get me to hang up the sea rods for a bit if u keep this up!!!

Thanx guys, was UBER fun today. Except losing a few fish that were RIGHT by my tube, pure school boy errors!!

Marthin, that video would be pure gold and i WANT please!! Thanx for all the info!!

Good day today, hope it happens again.

PEACE

I'll see what i can do about the vid. I think he can put it onto disk. Havent watched it in forever just know he has it somewhere in his house. Lives just up the hill there. Fished that dam plenty when i was younger, every morning after nightshift 2 hours of casting then off to bed.
