Worm bait rigging?

Hi! I've heard and read so many great stories of different fish being caught on "camo worms" or "blood worms"...

I recently got myself a pack of 10" camo worms (because I was told you can use pieces of it at a time), but I'm not 100% sure how to rig them...:doh I would like to use them in the Southern Cape (estuary or the sea), but I'm VERY new to dropshotting and fishing in general...

Can someone please offer advice? The salesman said I can fish it like a still bait, but I would like to know more... Can it be rigged on a proper jighead? How should it be retrieved? If possible, can anyone maybe post pics of the different ways to use a camo worm?

Yo J man! The salesman was rite ive had most of my success with camo worm using it as a still bait and letting it drift with the current... It can be rigged on a proper jighead... I would advise cutting the head off and rigging straight on... Very nice 'lure' to use in estuaries, alot of fish will pick it up... If you retrieve it do very very slowly for the best results... Thanks for the advice! When you say "straight on", does that mean threading the hook through the worm and only letting the one end stick out? Sorry, I'm a real beginner...

No problem... U actually slide the worm on straight through the hook ie. so you cant see any of the hook at all except for the point of it... Listen J man give me a few hours and i will take some pics to show you how to rig a camo worm i think it would be easier than explaining it in words...

Unfortunately dont hav any worms but i have some other plastics the method is basically the same

Then slide your worm onto the jighead

Then you keep sliding it on all the way up to the top of the hook, making sure the lure is covering the hook...

And there you have it! Push the lure as far up as you can

Just imagine its the same process except with a camo worm

Very cool! Unfortunately couldn't land anything, but had a great take by what could only have been a BIG leerie at double mouth! Was my first proper "take" on light tackle, and it was a massive rush. So now I'm SUPER keen for more!!

Hey guys

Getting back to the retrieve, when you say very slow, what does that mean? Should the worm be dragged on the bottom? i.e. retrieve so slow that the lure doesn't pick up drop the deck?

I've read somewhere that the sinker on the hook should dig into the bottom and this will make the worm stand upright as it gets "dragged" by your retrieve.

Also some guys say they just cast it in like a normal bait and leave it there?

O, and what would the preferred hook size be?

I'm going down to Mbotyi (T'skei) in Aug for a week and wanna try the worms out in the various lagoons in the area.
