1) I always use barbless hooks for wonderworm.
2) Try using a thin but obviously strong hook.
3) Always put the worm head first on the hook.
4) I also salt and freeze the worm before using it, It's leka firm that way and doesn't really slip
5) Try some ghost cotton IF NECESSARY, I don't
6) It's usually the worm without heads that become mushy, try not to use headless worm..
