With all the Tournaments and Classics comming up that will be over the deadline to have you skippers licence and boat registered and seaworthied etc etc.

What are the organisers of such events going to do to enforce the rules? Are they going to enforce the rules or just take everyones money and turn a blind eye?

Ryan, 3k includes the fitting of two inspection holes, fitting of the foam, two paddles, fire ext, serial no stickers on the boat and trailer and the two certificates. The bouyancy certificate is only R350 and the COF is R250 if not mistaken.  So if your boat has it all, obviously less than 1k. So what I'm saying is that if you have to start from scratch, it will be 3k

I am interested to see how they are going to get holes in the hull of a bass boat............................

Very interresting question, the stuff has to go into the floor of the boat ya. So, depending on the layout of the boat and hatches one would try and find space as close as possible to the middle of the boat, be it in a hatch or not. The inspection covers come with a rubber o ring that seals of water ( suppositly not to leak)

Just be careful with the Skippers licence because the rates range from R250 to R800! The local SABAA chapter in KZN will put you in touch with the chap doing them for R250.
