To be honest. Witbank can make you or break you. But if you get the pattern and fish the right spots then it will be well worth your while. I would much rather fish witbank then any other dam around JHB and so

Thanks Johan

What do you recommend using, the usual plastics like senkos, brush hogs, etc. Have you had much success on cranks? Does Witbank's water colour get affected by the rain as badly as some other dams?

Much appreciated

Well depending on water colour. But your normal plastics (Watermelon gold, watermelon red and candy) will work very well. I have had major success on senko’s so I fish that most of the times. But Brush hogs and flukes work just as well. But that you need to determine when at the dam. They will short strike you till you get the right lure in the water. Cranks work very well on Witbank. But only on specific spots.

Yes rain does have a major impact on water colour at witbank.

I will PM you my contact number and will gladly share info over the phone. But unfortunately with a comp just around the corner. I will not share info on an open forum till after the comp
