Winter advice for a dam I've fished before in the summer

Hi guys

Need some advice as to an approach to the dam I'm targeting this weekend. I'm a specimen carp angler but do enjoy chasing a few bass too. The venue I'm going to this weekend I have been to before - it is close to Groblersdal. It's a small dam of about 2-3ha. Previously I caught many bass there in the shallower water (1.5m and less) on a soft plastic frog lure. This was however in the height of summer (Dec/Jan). Can you give a bass angling novice some tips as to where to target them and what will work? Should I try the frog lures again even though it's winter and there are no frogs around?

Bass tend to be much closer to structure during the winter and a slower approach is needed. Lures with less action works better!

Try a senko fished very slow (slow as in let it sit for a minute before twitching it and hardly moving it from where is was).

Drop shot with a small bait like a cut tail will also work as long as your presentation is correct and as close to structure (sometimes inside the structure) as can be!
