Hi okes.

What fish can be found there over the holidays? Is it a good place to use live bait? Any tips will be appreciated.^^..

Livies should produce decent results at winkelspruit.
You can also try sliding something like a whole bonnie if you want to target sharks.
According to John Wallace- the author of a book on sharks in SA, winkelspruit is the beach that has had the most recorded shark encounters of all time.
Shad should also be a species that will be around - depending on the water conditions. ( brown water = not good for shad).
There is a great spot for shad at Hibberdene, just a few KM from Winkelspriut.
If you are going South , look for the last cafe right next to the road.About 250 meters further south you will find a footpath going down to the beach. At the bottom of this path is a great spot.
Good luck ang get yourself a big one!

Hi Willie K

Winkels good for leeries, i think i can remember that the guys used to catch them by the dozens on live shad and strepie.

Acid pipe/ doonside and warner beach (in front of the car park) also good for game fish.

Good day Wille

This time of the year there plenty small shad in the morning, try to get the smallest one.Theres quite a few Kingies around this time of the year, ive been stripped a couple of times a Winkle before.

Another good bet is to try to get a couple of pinkies, put them out on top bung.Theres plenty big blue shad around and kingies wont say no to them as well.
