Will Heat Shrink damage Wind-ons

Kumz

I did speak to Andries about this already ... only problem is the way it is made & kept !!!

My only concern is the 1mm being ths smallest , i wud prefer the tightest fit on my wind ons especially on teh mono end .

Normal shrink can go from 1mm to nearly 0.5 mm, Where as this says 30% shrink !!!

As i said i like a tight Fit ???? LOL ..dont think dirty guys ???

Yep, keeping it is going to be the problem...!

You need the stuff to be slightly bigger than your leader when it is shrunk Kumz. The smallest your leader is going to be is 1mm...

UNSHRUNK          SHRUNK

1.3                           1.0

2.0                            1.5

2.6                              2.0

So the 1.3mm stuff will be PERFECT for the leader, but too small for the Dacron and binding. I reckon the 2mm would be the way to go.

Thanks Kumz & Reefman.
Here go the calcs to justify an excercise like this.
Q:     What is a reasonable % or will I be labelled a shark if I take too much and loose 50% of my potential client base?

AS0103:
Cost = R 5.88 per meter, incld V.A.T.
5 m = Cost R 29.41
Re-pack = R2.50 for a suitable container ??
5 m = Cost R 31.91
Proposed selling price of R 55.00 per 5m unit?
That's a total sales value of R 880.00 against a cost of R 510.59
Sealiners would like a special price:
R 47.50 per 5m unit
= R 760.00 income.

AS0155:
Cost = R 6.54 per meter, incld V.A.T.
5 m = Cost R 32.72
Re-pack = R2.50 for a suitable container ??
5 m = Cost R 35.22
Proposed selling price of R 60.00 per 5m unit?
That's a total sales value of R 960.00 against a cost of R 563.49
Sealiners would like a special price:
R 52.50 per 5m unit
= R 840.00 income.

If we can get commitments for 8 packets of a size, I'll do it.
PM me and I'll summarize the totals by next Friday, 5 June and post the decision over the weekend.

Andries, at R60 each, I'll take:

5m of the AS 103 (1.3mm);
5m of the AS 155 (2mm)
and 5m of the AS 205 (2.6mm).

You Vaalies...

Honestly it's easier and better just to bind it with very thin braid or even better waxed dental floss.

There is not need for the heat/air shrink at all.

Better???? You're confused bud!

We "Vaalies" have got all the time in the world to bind it with braid, glue it AND wrap it with air/heatshrink - as much as you like to make your traces neat and tidy, we do too!... Tjop.

Calm down guys - Back to the point:

We have only one commitment for Airshrink.!!
