Wild River Tiger

Its been my dream to catch a tiger for some 30 years now and finally I got one. I am living and Working in Maun, Okavango, Botswana on a two year contract. My Fiance came up for a visit so we went on safari to Nxai Pan and Baines Baobabs, Kasane and the Chobe Game Park, the Zambezi River at Katima Mulilo, the Okavango River in Namibia and Shakawe and then Back to Maun. In the Caprivi I found spot to fish off this white beach on the Okavango River. I was casting copper Effzets with treble hooks and the fish were chasing but no strikes. I changed to a silver Effzet with a single hook and "bang" I was on first cast. A nice 3KG wild river Tiger. Boy did that get the adrenalin pumping.

I'm off to the barbel run at Shakawe end of September. I will post more pics then.

I am told the singles work best on the Effzetts - I also bought some silver/copper to hedge bets for upper Zambezi

Okavango is defo on my wish list looking at those pics
