Hi Guys ( and girls)

 

I`m new to the forum and enjoying all the info and topics posted, this weekend I will be going down to Kobonqaba on the Wild Coast ( at the Jacaranda wreck), there have been some big raggies and black tips coming out so we will slide a big bait and see if we can hook a submarine.

I`ll post pics if we have any luck

Hi Lads,

 

Well, no submarines were hooked or landed, we got down to the spot at about 6am, there was a slight Easterly puff and those of you who know this area will know that if you feel a true easterly puff at 6 am then it`s going to blow gales. Anyway we tried for some kob at the river mouth and got a couple of estuary cob but nothing  exciting.

We decided to move closer to the Jacaranda wreck and catch some shad for bait, we got our shad and by 8am we were ready to slide. All of a sudden, as if the fishing god Neptune himself ordered it, the Easterly said howzit big time and the surf got huge.....needless to say we could not slide our baits out cause the surf was massive and the surge was pulling to the right into the bay at a hell of a rate.

Dissapointed we baited up with squid and pillies and pulled a couple more small cob and barbel.

So it seems the submarines will have to wait until next time.

Hi All
New to the forum. Need any advice/info on Mazzeppa Bay as I will be going there for 2 weeks from 22 Sept.
