Why are my boilies floating

I made my own boilies, not to cut costs, but to make them in flavors I cannot buy over the counter.

But what could cause them to be so super buoyant? They pick up even a size 2 hook, despite being only 15mm in size at most. They are more buoyant than the Supercast pop-ups I've bought.

I have not used all the best ingredients as this was just a start/test.
List of ingredients:
Eggs
Semolina flour
Self raising baking flour
Oats
Bit of salt
Lots of curry powder. (I wanted curry flavored boilies)

I did boil them for three minutes in water, left them to dry, and then kept them in the freezer.
I wanted them to be normal ground bait, but I have created pop-ups

Self raising baking flour - this should give you your answer.

The yeast will activate and cause them to be buoyant
Swap the self raising for normal flour and your problem will be resolved.

I actually did this the first batch of boilies I made I did find that they loose their buoyancy but that does not help for feeding.

Ahh, thanks. So I do not now have to buy pop-up mix when I want to make my own pop-ups
