Hi guys, we fished the christmas silt canal comp in durban bay on 4 Dec 2011 and landed this white steenbras. It was small but when people heard me say we landed a white steenbras they argued that it is not possible and that it probably was a mof grunter. I've never seen a mof grunter so I wouldn't now?:wfish

White is not impossible, but far more likely to be a Sand Steenbras (Smith no 183.21), which is fairly common around Durban.

From what I can see on your photo .Its a white steenbras (pig nose as I know it)

The sand steenbra has same stripes but shorter mouth .
