White mussel bait presentation

good morning man!
personally, I would not do a white-mussel bait like that. You will miss 90% of your bites. fact.
especially when the fish are finicky!
looking at white-mussel, you will see the "tongue" and the guts of the mussel. always have the guts around your hook point, and not the tongue. most days, the Galjoen will only take the guts of the mussel, (only one or two half hearted bumps), leaving you only with the tongue part around the bend of the hook.
whitemussel is such a soft bait that you can afford to bait up similar to a J-hook presentation. just make sure your hookpoint is proud AF.

one more thing to keep in mind, the sinker. personally i would never use a wire grab- be it between the rocks or off sandy beaches.
you want your sinker to wash around, until it finds a rock or reef. now, i understand that some anglers believe that you dont get stuff as often with a wire grab- but I would rather loose a R5 sinker than a R12 sinker.
also, you tend to loose much less tackle when using braid, than with mono.

You wouldn't use it on sandy beaches as well? If I don't use it, I tend to get washed around by the waves, far to the left/right, then crossing lines with other anglers etc.
That logic makes sense. Though there are times when I lost bottle sinkers cast after cast, and over time those R5s add up. I haven't heard of the braid trick yet, but I'll definitely try it out and see if it works!:thankie
