tauruck, just an idea:
when a fish gets excited or injured, they will often change their colours. Typical example that most people have seen is when a marlin LIGHTS up. His normal colours changes, with bars appearing more prominant, brighter hues, etc.
Yozuri lures, have mimic'ed this behaviour by creating lures with different colours. The lure is no longer completely the same colour. On ONE side of the lure, you have a colour, whilst on the OTHER side of the lure, you put another colour. Check:

Maybe even look at using various pearl colours, that will change the colour of the lure, depending on the depth, angle of the sun, water clarity, etc, that the target species is swimming in.......
