:::S greetings all
I am in the market for buying a new mask (and snorkel set). i really like the cressi range of masks and the occhio plus and corsica set is very tempting at R750^^..
I would just like to know from those with experience with the cressi range which is better, the occhio plus or the super occhio?
I know the occhio plus has better visibility. i have tried the super occhio on and it was nice and snug and you can dissemble it.
Any other mask i should be looking at?

opinions, pros and cons welcome

Big up to Andrew (Ledge) for the new Mares razor pro fins he helped me acquire, i cannot thank you enough. they work like a charm and i would recommend them to anyone ::S

Take a look at the Mares range. I use the Star Elite mask and can't imagine getting better value for the price

Hey Mike,

Glad you like the fins...

Eckart sells the Mares range of masks as well. I think he uses one of their masks... I think they are under R400 if I remember.

Good luck!
Cheers bru,
Andie

Mad Mike,
I sell a whole host of different masks. Come pop by and have a look at them, they all start at R300...

on another note, it's not the name or cost of the mask that makes it great but how it fits... I'm still using a Seakodive mask that I bought 8 years ago for R200!

Firstly i wanted to say big ups to the guys at the Dive factory in Durban for being so helpful and making my decision making much easier secondly to everyone else who helped with opinions and advice. I thank you =)

I have purchased my new mask and snorkel set. and couldn't resist getting a set of gloves and a cray bag (birthday present from the girlfriend)
The mask is the Cressi occhio plus. It fits perfectly. Tried a few others and the leaked in some places and didn't feel as comfortable.
The snorkel is the Mares dual basic. i chose it over the corsica as it is much more rigid. the corsica would work better in caves or kelp. not in the pounding surf of the north coast. and it is cheaper
The gloves are called "MaxiFlex Endurance". They are nice and thin but strong. Fit like a glove...should.

To anyone buying new equipment or just looking for advice i would highly recommend the dive factory or any freedivers shop in your area. They are both always willing to help and offer advice. Credit where credit is due
