Been in CPT for about a year now and been trying to fish here for about 4 months? NOT A FISH YET!! although ai am seriously putting in long hours.

My biggest problem is that i am use to durban waters (like an aquarium compared to CPT)

Read the section on Galjoen - Winter coming and they are great fun to catch. Any of the areas in Cape Point Reserve, Smitswinkel Bay and the areas around Misty cliffs are good to find them. Be prepared to lose some tackle in the white water as thats where they are. For bigger fish just keep trawling Sealine and you will pick up what the guys are doing and catching.

There coast towards Betty's bay also offers ample opportunities, but just confirm closed seasons, Bag limits and rge Marine Reserves.

Good luck - keep trying the fish ARE there.:f1shy:sf:::

Hiya Ashley, nice meeting you guys, hitting Slip this evening. Doppie wants to slide a yellow tail, lol. You missed a couple of fish, all undersize, but good fun.

@Lushwill, drive south down melkbos beach rd till you can't go further, turn right towards sea and park in the parking area behind the fire station.walk towards capetown along the beach for about 400m, you will see a large open area in the kelp with a few boats stashed behind the dunes.that's the vlei....oh we used prawn for the steenies.

Derdesteen still delivering Steenies on prawn, first cast a 51cm runner, next cast 40cm on fresh prawn. Used the Exage heavy tip, Howling wind and a hectic cross current, with tons of kelp.
