where and when to spin in cape town

yo guys....i really want to try lure fishing but dont know where is the right place and when to fish. any advice?

i have found that the best spinninng (if u dont have a boat to fgo for snoek now and tail in summer) is out of town. Breede river. but i have caught leerie in Zandvlei but there was a big problem there and the water got contaminated and lots of fish died. I havent been back since. I know the guys also get off the strand reefs, including cob and shad in summer. Winter is a bit hard tho. You really have to work hard for fish around cape town if you are fishing from the shore

Yes Zandvlei is messed up since the massacre in Mar/Apr. Wait for the Cob and Elf in False Bay from about Sept

Another nice one. All before the vlie was destroyed. So so so sad. Maybe in a year or two, if council stops the effluent pouring in, they might repopulate the vlei.

@Bushbuck were was that leeries caught...is it the vlei there by muizenberg by the slides? please let me know as soon as the fish are back i also want pics like that lol. good catch!

Weve had some great success fishing the vlei on an array of lures in the past few months. definately some decent size leeries patrolling, just a matter of working the water
