When to call it quits on motors

Good day guys. I am at wits end with two 2 stroke mercury 30hp outboards on my ski craft. Every time we go fishing we always have some type of engine issues. I have spent a small fortune on replacing parts and stuff but everytime something else pops up. I simply cannot trust the motors and that ruins a day out at sea wondering will they start will they get us home.

Now I know they are at least 20 years old so maybe its time to start considering 4 strokes. Obviously there is cost involved but I am never going to sell this boat so I am thinking long term.

I've heard very good things about 30hp suzukis
Any advice.

I hear you, it is very frustrating. If you can afford to replace with 4 strokes then go for it. No guarantee of anything, but must admit my Yamaha 4 stroke 70's have never missed a beat.
