Whats happening at Clanwilliam dam?

Now that the sweltering day time temperatures are over and we head toward autumn it's time to target the smallies again!

I've heard in recent times that there are more largemouth bass coming out of Clanwilliam, is it true?  After the massive fish kills in 2002 has Clanwilliam recovered to its former glory?  How far into winter can clanwilliam smallies be trageted on fast moving lures such as crankbaits, lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, surface lures and flukes?

Your comment on this and more will be appreciated.

Howzit Zane, Firstly the Largemouth story is true, and they are getting big. a Buddy fished Clan 2 weeks ago and it was good. He fished for three hours in the morning and got 15 (SM), but then again he knows what he's doing. Same friend caught on crankbaits last winter when the water temp was 9oC, where the river comes into the dam. IMHO you can fish there the whole winter.

Hope this helps.
