ok so i had planned a 2 night session but things didnt work out. the hospital decided to discharge my bros newly born twins on sat afternoon just when i was all set to leave. in the whole rush i had forgoten to hand my shop keys over to my dad so he could open my business incase i got late on monday morning and i didnt bother taking the boat. so i got there saturday early evening and because i had my newly wedded wife there, priority was to set camp 1st and by the time i was done with that it was already dark. at this point i wasnt too worried about fishing as i still didnt realize i had the shop keys with me. my plan was to start spodding at 1st light and have my lines out. i spent the night showning my wife different rigs and bait presentations. at 1st light i woke up and started spodding to a bouy meant for the canoe guys. my aim was to get my wife onto a fish. to lines out to the marker and one in the margin. 1 hour later....beep..beep...beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.....and on. i quickly called for my wife and handed her the rod and spoke her through it. the only thing she said to me after the fish was landed was that she wants her own rods. i just smiled and said no problem
she was more than chuffed with her 1st fish at around 15lb. later in the day i couldnt find my lighter so went to the bakkie and saw the shop keys staring at me. after swearing myself a considerable amount i walked back to the camp and told my wife what a dumbass she married.....lol anyway we decided to spend the day and leave in the early evening. no more runs during the day. then towards the afternoon the rain started comming down and i was sure ill have another take just before we leave. i fell asleep and was awoken at around 18:00 by the lady telling me....your alarm...your rod....go go go....so in the rain i went. called the wife as i felt it was a slightly better fish than the 1st one but she just looked at me and said....its raining mo!!! i laughed and continued to land the fish. it was abit better as i suspected....just under 20lb. after a photo at was time to pack up. the session was great even though it didnt go according to plan. nothing big but having the wife say she wants her own rods was more than i could have asked for.....thats it guys, until next time.
