Good day

In need of some help please to what rod i can get that will be a good balance for my Rovex big boss 5000 reel.

So im going to buy myself the Rovex big boss 5000 hopefully its the right choice🙈 was looking at the shimano sienna FG 4000 allso?

I am a casual angler so maybe 3 to 6 times a year i would go fishing by Struisbaai,Knysna or Gansbaai this december i will be at Knysna lagoon catching at 2 heads for grunter and steenbras and by the beach for Cob i normally use 3 - 5oz weights at the beach, need some help with what rod i can buy myself for my spinning reel my budget is about R1500 for the rod and is the combo i want to use the 5000 reel and rod the right choice for my type of angling?

Some help would be much aprecciated

Sorry if spelling is out of order im afrikaans😄😄

A link would allso be aprecciated if i can buy online on takealot maybe.

Any 12ft Okuma or Assassin rod in your budget rated for 2-4oz will suffice. Don't buy via takealot, rather buy through Billimoria online.
I'm pretty sure you can get a combo deal from them with Rovex big boss (spool with 30lb braid). Don't use heavier than 4oz on size 5000 reel, your gears won't last. Otherwise buy a larger reel.

Something like this.

Dit hang alles af van die hengelaar.
Long bud rods work well when spinning, and a grinder close to your jewels just feels bad.
a rod with some back bone will work better and spinning rods are normally thin and have less weight.
a 12 feet rod will work lekker yes, but the reel and rod should be balanced.
sienna is only a entry reel and a 4000 is small.
shimano dont have big line capacity at all.
daiwa bg 4000 is a lekker reel but pricey and you can pair it with a 11 ft daiwa spinning rod in 2 to 4 ounce.
this rod combo can be used for spinning and normal bait fishing.
ah, the joys of fishing.
enjoy

Dankie vir reply willem, at the end i got myself the okume azores xp6000. The guy at the shop said if im only buying one rod to fish with at the lagoon or the rockand beach i must rather get a 13 or 14ft rod that can cast 4 - 6oz then i can used it everywhere, im still struggling to what rod i must get and if the balance will be good.

There is the assassin edge surf 13ft 5-6oz and the assassin sabre 13ft 5-6oz
