Baby Blue Kurper and probably a female.

Your profile pic looks like a Blue or Mazambique Tilapia.

Post a larger pic so we can ID it. Small Canary Tilapia are browner and full of stripes and dots

There you go...Moderator would you advise anglers to visit Vaalkop, Roodekoppies or Klipvoor dams, with all those protesta near Brits?

That is a nice Female Blue Kurper you caught there.

Klipvoor you can get to and bypass the troubled areas.

As to Roodekoppies I'm not to sure as I personally don't know exact hotspots with the service delivery protests.

My advice would be to phone the Brits SAPS and enquire as the the safety on the route you plan to travel.

Given the issues I would be inclined to say that Harties or Vaaldam would be a better bet or if it's Kurper you want then take a 40km longer drive and go fish Flag-Boshielo Dam(Arabie)

Definitely a baby blue.

The juvenile blues are easy to confuse with vlei kurpers, and I've caught them both before off the same spot also at Footloose.

The 3 faintish spots on its side is also a way to identify them.

Cheers
