They do look like the better of the two as far as I am concerned.. then again I prefer a stiff stick.
 
Had one a while back and it is a great looking stick indeed. I had some issue with the one I got so never got to throw with it.

I still rate the Pentagon Heavy HMG at 13.2 is the No. 1 !!! Will pull a door off its hinges and throw a 10 ounce amongst the chokka boats on the horizon..

we still like you abbadon..he he..have you used the shark extreme heavy yet?maybe looking at the 13ft heavy shark extreme ..on a lighter note..i have caught many sharks on my 3xh..can handle most big fish..but sometimes you need a bit more..then its the blade or pentagon range..

you reckon the pentagon heavy hmg is a better buy than the shark extreme heavy?i dont mind a stiff heavy rod..big enough for that(moms food)..

Like I said time and again.. I never said the 3XH was K@K or anything.. In fact the one Doom has was mine.

My statement was simply its an entry level stick caus of its price. It would be high on my list if I were starting to fish for non eds. I rate the Sharkie a little higher but the 3XH would be up there..

I did not get to use the one I got (that is the Heavy Shark Extreme) as I was not comfortable that it would not break or somin.. there were some issues with the blank and both myself and Doom were a little skeptical as to its integrity. It was heavier in weight and felt more solid than the Med. I would take one of them before I take a Med.

just love your medium..its a great stick..was the heavy shark extreme that stiffer than the medium?just scared of the medium lacking the last bit of backbone when you need to pull really hard..

poseidon rods have allways been good..i have landed a 160 kg rag on my normal poseidon 5 with medium tip..but i am looking for the machine now..pentagon here we come

Definitely.. I was fishing the one evening with Enigma and Trophy and we got into the non eds indeed! I had on a Rag pup of about 70Kg and it was full of energy next to the pier. Keeping it away from the pier was real tough at one point where I was pulling as hard as I could but the stick was bending and came OH SO CLOSE to making contact with the pier. That would have had me VERY THE M@*R IN.. Missed my Heavy HMG right there and then. Knew it was a better stick for me.

The only plus to the Med was that we got into the non eds like I said and I was not taking strain at all caus the Med Shark is that comfortable through sustained fights. Got into somin real large that pulled good line and hard, Enigma rates it to have been a large Duckbill.. I was so comfortable in that fight with the Med Shark..

So there are pros and cons to the sticks but I still say the normal Heavy HMG is tops..

Does the Magnum not have 2 tips 7-8oz and 8-9oz tip and the 3XH only has one tip 8-9oz and it is the only Poseidon that had 16mm guides on aswell

I am not a pissy always complaining like a baby with a dirty nappy!

I asked for help from you and you are comparing, discussing and giving opinions. I asked for it and you are giving it.

Got the Posiedon 3XH and not the Saltist to match it!

The Saltist is getting a make over and then I am going to have the frame anodized!

Going to look real windgat!

Will post pics when it is done. Going to start this weekend.

3XH is good value for many.

Hope you have many stywe lyne on the rod and reel. You will not regret your setup. Next step you will take is a custom rod

I am now busy stripping my saltist 50H and will post the strip and end results when I am finished.

All rust will be removed and it will be coated and look better than new!

Keep us updated Thunder.

I would like to sand blast my Saltist 40 and 50 and then get them annodized in a nice grey matt black or gold if I want some bling and then if I opt for gold everybody will thinbk it is TRINI.     LOL
